Society Emissary Email: 

Though the Voices of the Populace do NOT identity as Sign Heralds, the Sign Heralds wanted to ensure there is proper contact availability provided for anyone in need of reaching out to this other branch of Signers in the SCA. 

Sign Emissaries began in the Society in the just-before-COVID times in the West Kingdom. They have since started branching out to An Tir and Caid.

The head of the Voices of the Populace has made it known that Voices of the Populace would love to join under the same umbrella as the Sign Heralds once Sign Heralds move away from using the word "Herald" and adopt "Emissary." Due to both Kingdom- and Society-level processes as discussed HERE, this is not something that can immediately take effect. If a union between these two groups is to develop, this will be a long-term goal. In the meantime, Sign Heralds and the Voices of the Populace consider each other allies in efforts to create language equity and standardized language/signed vocabulary across the SCA (at least in regard to American Sign Language).
