Orders of Merit
Order of the Keystone, signed as KEY+STONE - given for service to the kingdom, including teaching and autocratting. The order's badge is: Or, on a keystone gules an escarbuncle argent.
Order of the Golden Alce, signed as GOLD+DEER - given for accomplishments in the martial arts and sciences. The order's badge is: (Fieldless) A stag's head cabossed per pale Or and gules.
Order of the Golden Stirrup, signed as GOLD+HISTORIC+RIGHT - given for authenticity in appearance while performing a martial activity, including research and teaching with an emphasis in visual merit, not skill level.
Order of the Sycamore, signed as ORGANIZATION+LEAF - given for accomplishments in the peaceful arts and sciences, including entertaining and research. The order's badge is: (Fieldless) Three sycamore leaves conjoined in pall per pale gules and Or.
Orders of High Merit
Order of the Fleur of Æthelmearc (A&S award), signed as ORGANIZATION+FLOWER - given to recognize skill in the gentler arts. Members of the Order of the Laurel are not eligible for this award. The order's badge is: Per saltire gules and Or, four fleurs-de-lys bases to center counterchanged.
Order of the Gage (Heavy Combat award), signed as BLACK+GLOVE - given to recognize accomplishments in the heavy lists and melee fields. Members of the Order of Chivalry are not eligible for thsi award. The order's badge is: Fieldless) On a gauntlet sable, an escarbuncle Or.
Order of the Golden Lance of Æthelmearc (equestrian award), signed as ORGANIZATION+GOLD+(Classifiers indicating a Lance) - given to recognize accomplishments in the equestrian arts. The badge of the order is: Gules, a lance Or between two demi-escarbuncles palewise addorsed argent.
Order of the Millrind (service award), signed as ORDER+SERVICE+WORK - given to recognize service to the kingdom. Members of the Order of the Pelican are not eligible for this award. The order's badge is: (Fieldless) A millrind argent.
Order of the Scarlet Battery (combat archery award),signed as ORGANIZATION+RED+CANNON - given to recognize accomplishments in siege combat and combat archery. The badge of the order is: Per fess embattled argent and gules, in chief a culverin dismounted gules charged with an escarbuncle and in base a sheaf of arrows argent.
Order of the Scarlet Guard (archery award), signed as RED+PROTECT - given to recognize accomplishments of the archers of Æthelmearc. The order's badge is: (Fieldless) A tassel per pale gules and argent.
Order of the White Horn, signed as WHITE+(Classifiers showing a horn being blown) - given to recognize accomplishments in those martial areas not recognized by other martial Orders of High Merit. The badge of the order is: (Fieldless) A hunting horn argent.
Order of the White Scarf, signed as WHITE+(Classifiers showing the scarf on the arm) - given to recognize accomplishments of the fencers of Æthelmearc. Members of the order are entitled to wear on their left shoulder a white scarf with the badge of Æthelmearc: Gules, an escarbuncle argent within a bordure Or. This order is slowly being phased out as Kingdoms adopt using the new Peerage of MOD, or Master of Defense. Some Kingdoms do still induct people into this Order.
Non-Armigerous Awards
Æthelmearc Award of Excellence, signed as AWARD+EXCELLENT - given to honor excellence in the Eyes of the Crown. This distinction is recognized with a token from the Crown. There is no limit to the number of times an individual may be so recognized.
Order of the Cornelian, signed as AWARD+EXCELLENT+FORMAL - given to honor courtesy. The token is a carnelian gemstone.
Order of the Jewel of Æthelmearc, signed as DIAMOND+ÆTHELMEARC - given to recognize those outstanding individuals who exemplify skill, courtesy, chivalry and service. The Crown may recognize only one new member per reign, and consults with the members of the order before bestowing the award. The newest member is presented with an escarbuncle set with a gem, dependent from a chain, which is passed on to the next recipient.
Order of the Golden Thorn (no video in the Lori Drake YouTube playlist), signed as ORGANIZATION+GOLD+ROYAL+PROTECT or ORGANIZATION+GOLD+THORN/THORN- given for protection and defense of the Crown, usually for service in time of war or on the battlefield
Order of the Sigil of Æthelmearc, signed as ORGANIZATION+SYMBOL+AETHELMEARC - given for service to the Crown. The token is the Æ (Aesch) of Æthelmearc.
Order of the Silver Alce (youth award), signed as ORGANIZATION+SILVER+DEER - given for accomplishments in the martial arts and sciences by subjects age 14 and under.
Order of the Silver Buccle (youth award), signed as ORGANIZATION+SILVER+(Classifier showing a belt buckling) - given to outstanding subjects age 14 and under. The token is a silver buckle.
Order of the Silver Stirrup (for youth), signed as ORGANIZATION+HISTORIC+RIGHT - given for authenticity in appearance while performing a martial activity by subjects age 14 and under, including research and teaching with an emphasis in visual merit, not skill level.
Order of the Silver Sycamore, signed as ORGANIZATION+LEAF - given for accomplishments in the peaceful arts and sciences done by subjects age 14 and under.
Other Kingdom Honors
The Champion of Æthelmearc, signed as CHAMPION+AETHELMEARC - is determined in a heavy weapons tournament. At the end of Tourney, the Crown appoints a Champion from the combattants (not necessarily the winner of the tourney). If the King and Queen are unable to complete their reign, the Champion becomes Regent.
The Shield of Chivalry, signed as - given to the most chivalrous fighter in Crown Tournament, to hold until the next Crown Tourney. The Bearer of the Shield of Chivalry is selected by former royal consorts (including, but not exclusive to, members of the Order of the Garnet and Order of the Rose), and is charged to champion the ideals of chivalry on and off the field, use of proper etiquette, and courtesy, by example, at all times. Should none be found worthy, the shield is left in the keeping of the Crown.
